Doing Words: Major strategic announcement for "Why are we surrounded by idiots?"

I amazed that anyone subscribes to any blog or even has the time to read them. That especially goes for generalist blogs. I could see the novelty initially, but it has worn off now.

Its a bit like Blog technology is moving fast to bring more humdrum to a bigger audience than ever before. Just what we need. I guess that is the kind of thing that people who upgrade their mobile phones every 12 months or car every 3 years do.

But then I'm amazed that people are crazy about iTunes and MP3 files. A modern age of Quantity not Quality is upon us?

OK, I can see the relevance of industry, political, work related or personal interest blog.

Just as well you love me ay Bro?

yeah, just as well i love ya lil bro! well, not only do people read my blog, it's now apparently worth about $565.00 according to Technorati (see box in right hand column) and that's greenbacks, not Australian lire.

anyways, the reason why blogs are important is the same reason that desktop publishing, the MP3 and the gutenberg press were important - they allow anyone to say what they think and promote their ideas and passions, removing the remaining obstacles to self-expression on the web, no programming required.

services like Geocities came earlier and let people build web pages, sure, but blogging takes it a step further and makes it a publishing model, with audiences, marketing, distribution and even media and subscription revenue.

sometimes the revolutionary nature of an incremental change is only apparent when you look back on it from the future. my bet is this is one of those times :-)
